FOR TODAY

& THE COMING WEEK

Return to Worship – COVID Restrictions

There will be some important and essential Covid restrictions that have to be met.

  1. There is no need to book.
  2. Only double vaccinated people (with the exception of children under 12) can attend at this stage.
  3. You will need to sign in using the QR Code and provide proof of vaccination to our volunteers every time you come to the Church.

Christmas Bowl

“In the Christmas story we see God choosing to become our neighbour by taking on human flesh. This is an act of love from God that draws us into the story of God’s love for all creation and invites us to be witnesses to God’s love through our loving action in the world.
The Christmas Bowl provides us with a practical way to show love for our neighbours most in need. Your gift to the Christmas Bowl will remind our neighbours around the world that they are not forgotten, that they are loved and that we are all part of God’s love. As we celebrate Christmas may our love for neighbour grow”. Rev. Sharon Hollis, President, UCA.
As you are planning your Christmas giving this year, please consider including the Christmas Bowl.

HOW TO GIVE:
There are several ways you can donate:

  • Put cash in our special Christmas bowl located in the chapel
  • Use a Christmas Bowl envelope (cash, cheque, or credit card) and either place in our Christmas bowl or post. (Please write Werribee Crossroads Uniting Church as your church.)
  • Donate online at https://christmasbowl.actforpeace.org.au/ (Please write Werribee Crossroads Uniting Church as your church.)
  • Go straight to our church’s online donation page with this link: mycb.link/45154
  • Scan the QR code on the blue Christmas Bowl poster in the foyer to go to our church’s online donation page.

Each week in church during Advent we will be learning about projects that your money will support.

Daughter Rachel, her husband Aaron and grand-daughter Lillian live nearby. Daughter Melissa and her husband Shane are in Bendigo.

The Forbes left Werribee 20 years ago, and have now returned (to the same house); welcome back!

Lyle grew up in Robinvale, on the family soldier settlement vineyard block. His family attended Robinvale Presbyterian Church. His parents are still alive and well, at 96 and 94, living in Robinvale.
Lyle’s industrial chemistry degree was at Deakin University, leading to jobs in wood pulp, cardboard, and paper production. “Now I’m a manager at Encore Tissues paper mill in Laverton” he says.
Jillian came to Werribee aged 3. She says: “At St Luke’s Methodist Church Werribee, Geoff G was my Sunday School superintendent! I was baptized at Crossroads and confirmed at St Luke’s UC aged 16, and we were married at St Luke’s”.
Older members of this congregation will remember Jillian’s parents Bev and Geoff A, now living in McCrae.
Jillian recalls warmly the musical life at St Luke’s, having fun and making friends in Derek and Joan H productions. She studied violin , contemplating a life in music. After University High School her life-time career in nursing began at Western General Hospital, followed by many other positions as a health professional.
“Now I’ve found a useful role with Western Public Health Unit, focused on covid-related infection prevention”, says Jillian.
